About Us
At UPPER CUMBERLAND HOME INSPECTION we believe that every client needs to understand the importance of a home inspection. In knowing that, the client, upon completion of the inspection and receiving the report, will have a better understanding as to the condition of the home itself as well as it's systems and components. This is of the utmost importance to us and we're committed to meeting those needs. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from referrals.
That's why we firmly encourage that the client be present during the complete inspection so they will be able to discuss with the inspector, as well as being able to visually see, the issue or issues that the inspector's report will contain, thus helping the client more fully understand the issue or issues when presented with the report.

Remember that January was National Radon Action Month, and that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) along with the Tennessee Department of Environmental Assistance wanted to remind all Tennesseans that there's more to living "green" than just energy efficiency and recycling. It also involves giving your family a healthier home. Breathing "greener" air means testing your home for radon. Radon is a radioactive gas released naturally by the breakdown of uranium found in most soils.
Breathing high levels of radon (4.0 picocuries per liter) or (4.0 pCi/L) can lead to lung cancer, the surgeon general says it's the second-leading cause of lung cancer behind only smoking. That ranks it ahead of second-hand smoke. The unsettling part is that you can't see, smell or taste radon. And 70 percent of Tennesseans live in either a high-risk or moderate-risk zone for radon.
But high concentrations are easily detectable with a home radon test, and simple improvements can reduce high concentrations of the radioactive gas, making your home safer.
And to honor this UPPER CUMBERLAND HOME INSPECTION is still offering discounts on all our Radon Inspection and Testing. For more information on Radon visit the National Radon Safety Board at http://www.nrsb.org or for local state information here in Tennessee visit The Department of Environment and Conservation at http://www.tdec.net along with the Office of Environmental Assistance at http://www.tedc.net/ea/radon
